WARRENSBURG – Care Connection for Aging Services will offer a free event to help people enroll or update existing coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace on Nov. 7 at the University of Central Missouri.
The agency will have trained navigators who will guide people through the choices of health insurance during the event from 3 to 6 p.m. at the university.
The event is for people of all ages who need to enroll themselves or their families in the Health Insurance Marketplace for 2017. Open enrollment for the Marketplace ends Jan. 31.
In Missouri, most of the people who have applied for Marketplace insurance through www.healthcare.gov have qualified for income tax credit to help pay for premiums. Only consumers who enroll through the online Marketplace will receive tax credits, if they are eligible.
Care Connection provides free, unbiased information without trying to sell or recommend any insurance product.

The event will be in Kirkpatrick Library, Room 1464. Participants may park in visitor spaces behind the library or in lots 68 and 32 on the south side of the library.

Federal law requires most Americans to have some type of health insurance or face a fee when they file their income tax returns. People need to bring Social Security numbers, household income information, as well as the dates of birth for those who need insurance. Call 1-800-748-7826 for an appointment. Walk-ins will be accepted.
