WARRENSBURG – Care Connection for Aging Services will offer a free event to help people enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace from 3 to 6 p.m. Jan. 9 at the University of Central Missouri.
The agency will have trained navigators who will guide people through the choices of health insurance during the enrollment event from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Library computer lab.
The event is for people of all ages who need to enroll themselves or their families in the Health Insurance Marketplace for 2017. Open enrollment for the Marketplace ends Jan. 31.
In Missouri, 88 percent of the people who enrolled in the Marketplace in 2015 received an income tax credit to help pay for premiums. Only consumers who enroll through the online Marketplace and will receive tax credits, if they are eligible.
People need to bring Social Security numbers, household income information, as well as the dates of birth for those who need insurance. Call 1-800-748-7826 for an appointment. Walk-ins will be accepted, time permitting.
