Care Connection for Aging Services will conduct a “Medicare 101” presentation.
The session is one of a regular series of workshops geared toward people who are new to Medicare – including those who are continuing to work and planning to retire. Participants can learn about benefits, premiums, deductibles and copayments, as well as what is covered in Parts A, B, C, and D.
The free session is open to the public. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Stacey Gilkeson at 1-800-748-7826. Lunch will be available to people who are 60 and older for a contribution. Lunch is available to people younger than 60 for the cost of the meal. The meal is served beginning with a salad bar at 11 a.m. and hot lunch at 11:30.
Workshop participants also will learn how to find assistance in paying for prescriptions and medical care. Additionally, the workshop addresses prescription drug plans, supplemental insurance and Medicare Advantage plans. A question-and-answer session will follow.
Care Connection partners with CLAIM, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, to provide Medicare and Medicaid information and assistance in West Central Missouri counties. As a non-profit, Care Connection does not sell insurance and will not recommend a particular plan.
