Care Connection for Aging Services will conduct a “Medicare 101” presentation at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 23 at the Warrensburg Senior Center, 445 E. Gay.
The hour-long session is tailored for people who are new to Medicare, including those who are preparing for retirement. The workshop addresses the benefits, premiums, deductibles and copayments, as well as the differences in Parts A, B, C, and D.
The session is free and open to the public. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Stacey Gilkeson at 1-800-748-7826. Lunch will be available to people who are 60 and older for a contribution. Lunch costs $7 for people younger than 60.
The presentation also will cover how to find additional help to pay for prescriptions and medical care. Additionally, the workshop addresses prescription drug plans, supplemental insurance and Medicare Advantage plans. A question-and-answer session will follow.
Care Connection partners with CLAIM, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, to provide Medicare and Medicaid information and assistance in West Central Missouri counties. Care Connection does not sell insurance and will not recommend a particular plan.
