‘Matter of Balance’ to be offered in Brunswick

Care Connection for Aging Services will offer an eight-session course called “Matter of Balance,” beginning Aug. 6, in Brunswick. The course, which is geared toward people 60 and older, addresses the issue of falling, a problem that results in serious injuries among seniors every year. Holden Senior Center Fall Fiesta Quilt Raffle Drawing

Christian Sew & Sews, Shirley White, Coordinator, donated the Holden Senior Center Fall Festival quilt. Gail Osborne from Big Creek Quilting did the quilting. Free training offered to volunteer Tai chi instructors

Care Connection is recruiting volunteers to teach Tai chi for Arthritis classes in its 22 senior centers this fall. The area agency for aging will pay for volunteer instructor’s courses with master trainer Jim Starshak. The agency also will pay associated travel, meals and other expenses for volunteers who agree to teach Tai chi for Arthritis at a senior center. Sunday Luncheon in Lexington

The Margaret Gray Center will sponsor a Sunday luncheon with a menu of hand-breaded tenderloin, fries, cole slaw, dessert and drinks for $8. Carryouts will be available. Proceeds benefit the center programs.
