Share A Shake. Inter-generational activity where Dairy Queen will supply milk shakes for all of the seniors who agree to participate and a group of the National Honor Society juniors and seniors from Sacred Heart School. They will meet at the center to share a milk shake and spend some time visiting. The hope is that the seniors will share stories about military service, community service, interesting jobs and life stories with the school students.
The Sedalia Senior Center will participate in a Pettis County Health Department emergency exercise. Care Connection is participating in the American Heart Association’s Little Hats Big Hearts campaign. The Heart Association, in conjunction with the Children’s Heart Foundation, will celebrate American Heart Month in February by donating knitted and crocheted red hats for babies born at participating hospitals. To get ready, Care Connection’s health and wellness staff are encouraging employees and center participants to help make the hats. The yarn materials must be washable and medium or heavy weight. Come and join us for making Thanksgiving cards for our Home-Delivered Meal participants. Using the handprints of our community children, we hope to bring a smile to our HDM recipients.
There will be a painting class with a Christmas theme from 1 to 3 p.m. Suggested donation is $5.
