The Holden Senior Center continues its fun, educational events for older adults with a session of Medicare Bingo at 11 a.m. March 13 at the center at 204 W. Second St.
The free, interactive presentation is a themed Bingo game that teaches players about Medicare basics while giving folks a chance to have fun and win prizes.
The presentation is part of a series introduced last month to motivate seniors to check out what the center has to offer, said Johnson County Services Director Melissa Gower.
The center offers a hot, nutritious lunch four days a week, and participants in the Bingo session are encouraged to check out the meal afterward. The center encourages contributions; however, people 60 and older may enjoy lunch regardless of their ability to contribute. People younger than 60 may enjoy lunch for the actual cost of the meal.
The center is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The center also provides wide-ranging services from benefits counseling and Medicare guidance to care management and health and wellness activities.
