Care Connection for Aging Services has rescheduled its Seniors Fit & Fun event at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital 4 Corners Café for March 27.
The event will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. March 27 at the café, 200 Lifecare Lane, in Carrollton. The event was rescheduled from February because of bad weather. Targeted to senior adults, the Fit & Fun will include hands-on games and prizes, as well as information on how people 60 and older can maintain physical and mental fitness.
Activities include exercise demonstrations, beach ball basketball, hula hoops, Bingo, coloring for relaxation, and a healthy-snacking demonstration. Staff members of CCMH will offer seated ball exercises to test for core strength, an “Ask A Pharmacist” opportunity, memory games and more. Game winners will receive prizes, and drawings will take place for prize baskets. Participants will include staff members from Care Connection for Aging Services, Carroll County Memorial Hospital, and the Missouri SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol).
“We want to get Carroll County’s seniors up, moving, and healthy. We want them to see some easy, hands-on activities they can use to stay active and prevent common diseases and conditions,” said Rona McNally, Care Connection Director of Special Projects.
An optional boxed light supper with a chicken salad on croissant, cucumber salad, fruit, dessert, and drink will be available for $7 with advanced reservation. The meal will be served in a complimentary insulated lunch tote. To reserve a meal, call Vivian at 660-542-0399.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will showcase services offered by Care Connection for Aging Services, Carroll County Memorial Hospital and the Missouri SMP.
