Do you want to protect yourself from fraud, identity theft and scams? Maybe you’re wondering about the best way to use credit, how to shop for a used car, or maximize your security online.
Care Connection for Aging Services has information for you during National Consumer Protection Week March 4-8.
Each day of the week, Care Connection’s 22 senior centers will offer information on a different consumer protection topic, provided by the Federal Trade Commission.
Care Connection is teaming up with the Missouri SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) to bring this information to older adults through its senior centers.
“While we often concentrate on preventing Medicare fraud, this week gives us time to focus on fraud prevention in a more general way,” said Rona McNally, Director of Special Projects for Care Connection and Director of the Missouri SMP. “Older individuals are often the targets of fraud, and we work hard to keep them abreast of the latest scams.”
