The Center Coordinator is responsible for the development and organization of a comprehensive system for the recruitment, training and motivation of volunteers; to plan, implement and manage the daily functions and services offered in the center and greater community. The Coordinator shall provide leadership and direction for working with volunteers to implement fundraising plans and to plan and conduct center programming. The Center Coordinator will assist in planning, budgeting, supervising and evaluating the operation of the center as well as being responsible for the accurate compilation and recording of all financial and services data entry. They will work closely with the Regional Services Director (RSD), County Services Director (CSD), Care Connection Central Office staff and Center Services Advisory Boards (CSAB), as well as local senior participants and volunteers.

PREREQUISITES:
Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in both oral and written form in the language of the work location and be able to provide accurate, detailed reports. Must be able to relate to older adults and their needs, interests and physical conditions. Must be familiar with computer programs (EMail, Facebook, Word, Excel and other social media platforms) and have the ability to learn proprietary business applications.

Experience: Must be able to supervise staff and communicate effectively with superiors to ensure the smooth operation of the center. Should have previous experience in working with volunteers and boards. Requires experience in public speaking. Previous experience in fundraising, dealing with a budget and managing center purchasing is required.

Physical: Must be able to perform moderately heavy physical labor required to ensure the smooth flow of the senior center’s operations. Must be prepared for the possibility of extensive walking, climbing stairs, wet floors and extreme changes in temperature and noise. This job requires extensive communication skills which include the ability to hear so that verbal communication can be received, understood and acted upon. Must be able to assess and solve most employee and/or departmental situations. Must be able to be on feet, working, for long periods of time and have the ability to bend, squat and reach. Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Requires the ability to see clearly printed material, and to see objects at a far distance. Job requires extensive use of computers, necessitating use of fingers in coordinated manner.

Legal: Must agree to be screened for inclusion on the Missouri Department of Health Family Care Safety Registry.

Travel: Requires moderate amounts of travel in and out of the district. Must have current motor vehicle operator’s license, proof of automobile insurance and reliable transportation.
