Relax, enjoy a game, have a warm, tasty meal, exchange a friendly smile, and engage in good conversation and some exercise. Every month, we schedule fun activities, along with several educational and health programs. We want our guests to be able to enjoy themselves and leave all their troubles and worries at home for a few hours a day. Through the Higginsville Senior Center, Care Connection can provide you with a wide array of information and services. Our Care Manager can help you connect with everything from the right Medicare plan to in-home services and information about disease management. Blood Pressure Checks: Second and Fourth Wednesdays during lunch hour.
Our volunteers have the opportunity to work in the kitchen, help out in the dining room, work at the receptionist desk, and help out with the exercise programs. Our volunteers are able to choose the days and times that work best for them. During April, we have a volunteer banquet and awards supper to show our appreciation for a job well done.
We have several fundraisers including Bikers 4 Boomers in August, baked potato sales, taco salad sales, chicken and spaghetti dinners, a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day, donation letters, and Miles for Meals to help with our homebound meal delivery.
