If you have ever wondered what’s going on in the Harbor Village building sitting atop the bluff on Dam Access Road, here’s your chance to find out!

Harbor Village will celebrate its 10th anniversary on May 18 with an open house that will include Bingo, prizes, fitness classes, information, and lunch.

Harbor Village, at 17571 N. Dam Access Road, is home to the Warsaw Senior Center/Village Cafe, Katy Trail Community Health, and Compass Health Network. The celebration will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on  May 18.

The schedule includes Bingo games, a meatloaf lunch, and presentations throughout the day.

Harbor Village was opened October 13, 2013, as a one-stop multipurpose services center for Benton County residents of all ages.

Senior Center Coordinator Margie Hetherington says the open house will be a great opportunity to find out what’s happening at the center.

“My main focus is to get the word out about what we are all about,” Hetherington said. “We will be sharing all our activities, information, and the resources we have for seniors and caregivers in our community. I want people to know that they can come here and get what they need.”

Care Connection for Aging Services’ Warsaw Senior Center serves meals in the Village Café and provides a wide range of services for senior adults and their caregivers five days a week. Lunch will be provided to adults 60 and older for a suggested contribution of $5 and for full cost of $9.50 for others.

Here is a look at activities:

  • Joint Friendly Exercise 9 a.m.
  • Line Dance 10 a.m.
  • Tai Chi for Arthritis 10:30 a.m.
  • Proclamation Noon
  • Drums Alive 1 p.m.
  • Bingo 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Displays and information will be provided by Americorps Seniors, Care Manager Dee Locke, Family Caregiver Coordinator Tammy Wilkey and other leaders of Care Connection for Aging Services, Katy Trail and Compass Health.
