Take things at your own pace, but don’t forget to start!

Even if you haven’t put on exercise shoes for decades, it’s never too late to start a fitness program. Try setting clear goals to help you make physical activity part of your everyday life.

We know that not everyone can easily make it to one of our 20 senior centers, so we’ve added online classes through Zoom video conferencing. These virtual events make it easy to get to class!

Goal setting helps your body, mind and spirit

We all have obstacles in our path, so following the advice of Olympic athletes and other high-achieving people makes sense. Set clear, meaningful goals to offer a challenge to yourself.

Achieving your goals helps you reframe your aging process. Aging happens to all of us, and our attitude is the only thing we can really control!

Examples of short-term goals might include:

  • I commit to moving my body in a structured fitness class from Care Connection for at least four weeks.
  • I will get online to try at least one virtual exercise class this month.
  • I will meet at least one friend this month at my local senior center.

Care Connection offers specialized exercise classes for seniors.

The science is clear! Exercise, including strength training, aerobic and balance training, helps improve outcomes for people with chronic pain. It’s also a lot of fun to get to know motivated older adults like yourself.
