Care Connection is working with University of Kansas Medical Center to gather information about food insecurity among senior adults in Cedar, Hickory, and Lafayette counties. KU researchers are looking for 10 to 12 people per county to participate in focus groups. Participants will receive $50 gift cards for attending the focus groups.

You may qualify for the group if:

  • You and everyone in your household is age 60 or older.
  • You live in Lafayette, Cedar, or Hickory County.
  • You meet income requirements for SNAP.
  • You are currently receiving SNAP or you have thought about applying for SNAP but have put it off for one reason or another.

In-person focus groups will last about 90 minutes. Participants will receive $50 for their time.  To learn more, contact Heather Valentine at hvalentine@kumc.edu or 913-588-7618.
