The Warsaw Senior Center has received a $2,500 grant from the Benton County Community Foundation through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks Affiliate Grantmaking Program.

The funding will support the center’s Home-Delivered Meal (HDM) Program, which provides nutritious meals to homebound older adults in the Warsaw community.

“This grant goes a long way for the folks we serve here in Warsaw,” said Chris McCune, Regional Director for Care Connection for Aging Services, which operates the center. “In the past fiscal year alone, the Warsaw Senior Center provided more than 23,000 home-delivered meals, and the need keeps growing. This funding will help us make sure older adults have what they need to stay healthy and independent, especially during times of rising costs and economic uncertainty.”

In addition to home-delivered meals, the Warsaw Senior Center serves approximately 780 meals each month in its dining room and delivers an average of 1,680 meals monthly to homebound individuals. The center also offers opportunities for social connection, recreation, and supportive services that help older adults throughout the community.

The Warsaw Senior Center at 17571 N Dam Access Rd. is one of 18 locations operated by Care Connection for Aging Services, a nonprofit area agency on aging serving 13 West Central Missouri counties, including Benton. The agency’s mission is to provide opportunities to create positive aging experiences. For more information, visit www.goaging.org or call 660-438-3300 or 1-800-748-7826.
